In a parallel universe…
Most tennis fans have heard of young Rafael Nadal growing up hitting two-handed from both forehand and backhand sides…but how many have seen him hit a one-handed backhand?
From this brief little film capture, I have to say it looks pleasing to the eye. Dare i say, Federer-like? Just imagine the possibilities…
Could Rafa have been a great one-hander? Would it have helped his game or hurt it?

interesting thought, i tend to think a two-handed BH helps for clay but then again there’s been Kuerten and Gaudio who’ve been great on clay and had single handers

He doesn’t seem comfortable with it. Seems awkward. It seems to me as if he turns his head to imitate Roger rather than serve a practical purpose….. It could hurt the game. Nobody achieves an one-handed backhand so easily…

I think it would be unecessary, he’s two handed backhand is arguably the best ever, why change a weapon as scary as he has on that side?
